Carver Middle School embraces AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) principles to promote a career and college readiness culture and STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) pedagogy. Students participate in the fine arts through chorus, band, orchestra and award winning art instruction. Additionally, 7th and 8th graders have the opportunity to participate in football, basketball, wrestling and volleyball. Unrelated to this review, this website lists Spartanburg Freshman academy as the nearest middle school. However, it is not a middle school but the freshman campus of the High School. The nearest middle school is E. P. Todd School.
